The KeyTec® ActRIIA Kinase Assay Kit detects the relative activity level of ActRIIA (ACVR2A) kinase. The kit utilizes a reaction between the kinase and a specific substrate, and determines the relative kinase activity by quantifying the amount of ADP generated in the reaction.
The basic steps and principle of this kit are illustrated in the figure below. In the first phase (kinase reaction), the kinase phosphorylates the specific substrate in an optimized reaction buffer containing the kinase, specific substrate, and ATP, consuming ATP and generating ADP. In the second phase (detection), the level of ADP produced is quantified following the procedure provided with the ADP detection kit.
