VKEY-BIO's Four Core Cytokine Detection Solutions: TNFα, IL-6, IL-8, IL-2 Empowering Inflammation and Immunity Research

Table of Content [Hide]

    In the fields of fundamental immunology research and drug discovery, cytokines serve as crucial signaling molecules that reveal physiological and pathological processes.

    TNFα

    A classic pro-inflammatory cytokine, TNFα plays a significant role in immune responses, apoptosis, and disease models. By binding to TNFR1/2 receptors, it activates downstream signaling pathways such as NF-κB, making it an important target for inflammatory mechanism research and related drug evaluation [1].

    IL-6

    A multifunctional signaling mediator, IL-6 regulates immune responses and acute phase reactions through classical signaling pathways. It has garnered significant attention in research on autoimmune models, tumor microenvironment, and cytokine storm mechanisms [2].

    IL-8 (CXCL8)

    As a chemokine, IL-8 mediates immune cell chemotaxis through CXCR1/2 receptors and has well-defined functions in tumor migration, angiogenesis, and inflammatory models. It serves as an important indicator in tumor immunology and inflammation research [3].

    IL-2

    Regulating T cell functions, IL-2 precisely controls T cell proliferation, differentiation, and homeostasis through receptor complexes of varying affinities. It holds a critical position in research on T cell immunity, immune tolerance, and tumor immunotherapy mechanisms [4].

    Through quantitative analysis of cytokines such as TNFα, IL-6, IL-8, and IL-2, researchers can gain deeper insights into immune response mechanisms. During infection, tumor development, or autoimmune diseases, the activation and regulation of cytokines are of great significance, helping to elucidate the mechanisms underlying conditions such as severe COVID-19 and adverse reactions related to CAR-T therapy (e.g., cytokine release syndrome). VKEY-BIO has now launched quantitative detection kits for four cytokines: TNFα, IL-6, IL-8, and IL-2. More cytokine detection kits will be released in the future, so please stay tuned!

    Detection Principle

    • Select a pair of highly specific antibodies targeting the cytokine of interest (e.g., IL-2);

    • Label them respectively with Solar Eu (donor) and LA (acceptor);

    • The cytokine binds to both antibodies, bringing the donor and acceptor into close proximity. Upon donor excitation, energy transfer occurs, generating acceptor-specific fluorescence;

    • Cytokine concentration is quantified by measuring fluorescence intensity. No washing steps are required, enabling a simple "mix-and-read" detection format.

    Both kits exhibit excellent linearity across a wide concentration range, low CV%, and superb reproducibility. They are suitable for various matrices including cell supernatants and serum, supporting high-throughput, highly stable research.

    Currently, VKEY-BIO has launched four cytokine detection kits covering TNFα, IL-6, IL-8, and IL-2, meeting the basic detection needs for the majority of inflammation, immunity, and tumor-related research. In the future, we will continue to introduce more cytokine detection products, providing researchers with more comprehensive and convenient tools.
